Why the top-rated horse leads the figures

Sample Sovereign holds the highest relevant RFS figure in this example (86), recorded on comparable ground, and has produced a similar figure over this course and distance. That combination of a strong recent number and matching conditions is what places the horse at the top of the card — it is not a prediction of the result.

This sample demonstrates how Read For Speed presents race data. It is not a live selection or betting recommendation.

Our story

Built from a passion for racing and the clock

Read For Speed was created by Kevin Clements after years of studying race times and comparing performances across British flat racing. The aim is simple: turn complex timing information into clear, practical race analysis that ordinary racing fans can understand.

Every RFS figure is independently calculated and reviewed within the Read For Speed system. Turf and all-weather performances are kept separate, while going, course, distance, draw and finishing margins are considered when assessing a runner's relevant form.

Transparency

Transparent from day one

Every official Read For Speed selection will be recorded, including winners and losers. Results will be shown using consistent staking and clear profit-and-loss figures so members can judge the service using genuine evidence.

Read For Speed is an information and analysis service for over-18s. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
